The Tier I Hockey Federation packed the weekend with action as 94 games were completed across 11 divisions from September 11-13. After a five-game Friday night opened the slate, the schedule kicked into full gear Saturday and Sunday, with several teams putting together undefeated weekends and plenty of games going down to the wire.

Perfect Weekends Highlight Youth Divisions

Rockets Hockey Club led the way at 9U with a perfect 3-0 weekend, while the Piney Pirates also went unbeaten at 2-0. NYC Hockey Club and NY Dynamo provided some of the division’s best drama Saturday, battling to a 3-3 draw before Dynamo took their second meeting, 6-5.

At 10U, the Utica Jr. Comets were perfect at 4-0, while the Jersey Hitmen, PAL Jr. Islanders and Palmyra Black Knights each went 2-0. The Hitmen had to earn both of their victories, edging Team Maryland by one goal in consecutive games, 4-3 and 3-2.

Flyers Elite dominated the 11U slate, going 4-0 across a pair of doubleheaders against Team Maryland. PAL Jr. Islanders finished 2-0 at 12U, where three games were decided by a single goal or ended in a draw.

Overtime Drama and Undefeated Runs

Team Maryland emerged from the 13U schedule at 2-0, but one of the weekend’s wildest finishes belonged to the CT Chiefs and NY Dynamo. The two sides combined for 13 goals Sunday before the Chiefs escaped with a 7-6 overtime victory.

At 14U, NYC Hockey Club put together a perfect 4-0 weekend, while CT Jr Rangers Elite, Rockets Hockey Club Premier and the Woodbridge Wolfpack each finished 2-0. Woodbridge earned a 1-0 shutout over Atlantic Coast Academy, while NYC closed its weekend with a narrow 3-2 victory over Philadelphia Revolution Elite.

Notre Dame Hockey Academy delivered another perfect performance at 15U, finishing 4-0 across the three-day slate. Woodbridge Wolfpack Pure Premier also stayed unbeaten at 2-0, while Seacoast Academy picked up a hard-fought 1-0 shutout against Rockets Hockey Club Premier.

Close Games Define 16U

Few divisions were more competitive than 16U, where five of the 11 games were decided by one goal or ended in a draw.

The Pittsburgh Stars and Woodbridge Wolfpack Premier both finished 2-0. Pittsburgh earned its perfect weekend with back-to-back one-goal victories over Team Maryland, winning 2-1 Saturday and 3-2 Sunday.

Notre Dame Hockey Academy and Flyers Elite – Black Bear National Academy traded one-goal results, while CT Jr. Rangers National and the Jersey Hitmen battled to a 4-4 draw.

18U Goes Down to the Wire

The weekend’s largest division was also its tightest. Fifteen 18U teams competed across 14 games, with seven finishing within one goal or level.

Rockets Hockey Club Elite was the only unbeaten side at 2-0, including a 2-1 victory over South Kent School. Atlantic Coast Academy National and Woodbridge Wolfpack played to a 2-2 draw Saturday before Atlantic Coast Academy earned a 2-1 victory in Sunday’s rematch.

The close finishes continued throughout Sunday. TI Selects picked up one-goal victories over NY Dynamo and Philadelphia Revolution, while the New York Saints edged the CT Chiefs 4-3.

THF Game of the Week: Wolfpack Shut Out Flyers Elite

Woodbridge Wolfpack 18U made a statement in the THF Game of the Week, defeating Flyers Elite 4-0. In a weekend where the 18U division was defined by tight finishes, Woodbridge separated itself in the spotlight matchup with a shutout victory. Aiden Ziolkowski led the way for the Wolfpack with two goals and an assist. The four-goal margin stood in sharp contrast to a division that saw half of its other weekend games finish within a goal or tied, making the Wolfpack’s performance one of the more decisive results of the 18U slate.

Another Weekend in the Books

From perfect 4-0 performances by the Utica Jr. Comets, Flyers Elite, NYC Hockey Club and Notre Dame Hockey Academy to overtime thrillers and one-goal battles, the September 11-13 weekend brought plenty of early-season storylines across the THF.

With 94 games in the books, teams now turn their attention to the next weekend of Tier I Hockey Federation action as the season continues to take shape.
